Trooper Dan Voelker brings his professional experience and insights as Master Instructor for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's National Training Center to the ProDealer Industry Summit. He will provide insights only a seasoned inspector can share. Attendees will learn about common issues he and other safety inspectors find with flatbed trucks in general and with those carrying lumber and building materials in particular. Trooper Voelker will also share lessons learned from the cargo securement focus of Roadcheck 2017, and most importantly, give us information we can use in our effort to be safe and be compliant on the roads and highways. By sharing what he sees and what he looks for, we stand to learn very practical dos and don'ts that we can share with our fleet managers, drivers and safety managers for improved safety and improved compliance outcomes.

We have a little more than half the year in economic and housing performance to understand what has happened. Will the rest of the year continue the trend or will we see a turn? Housing has been a challenge throughout the recovery but there is still plenty of room to grow. What have been the dominant trends in home construction for 2017 and what will the rest of the year offer in terms of housing and residential construction? Housing has posted a slow and modest recovery, but the demographic trends are quite favorable for building. Will growth continue into 2018 and what constraints exist for industry expansion? Dr. Robert Dietz will address the pace of the housing recovery to date and provide evidence of where it will go next year along with details on what is being built and why.

Keynote Speaker – Jessie Atencio, Assistant Director for the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH).
As Assistant Director of the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH), Jessie Atencio will provide an OSHA inspector's perspective on workplace safety and share with us what employers can do to remedy many of the most common OSHA violations he and his team at ADOSH find. Mr. Atencio will speak to issues relevant to dealer yards and warehouses and help us understand what really peaks an investigator's interests and what employers can do for better compliance and for better investigation outcomes. What we learn will be practical advice, easy to identify back at our facilities and easy to communicate with our safety personnel.
